Today is the 1st day we started to train Caydon to sleep in his cot instead of yaolan, without any rocking. It was in the afternoon around 12pm+ when he has finished latching and was sleepy, I carry him and placed him in the baby cot, switched on the cot mobile and see his reaction, at first the was starring at the cot mobile intensely. After a few minutes, he start to cry and the cries get louder and louder, he flipped and flipped until one corner of the cot, I just sat on my bed, a distance away from his cot and look at him. I was very heartpain to see him cry out so loud and perspiring. 10minutues gone by, finally he stopped to rest for awhile, and continue again... super heartpain but my hubby told me if I really cannot bear to see him cry, I can go and carry him. But inside me I was thinking if I carrry him now, the past 10minutes of crying would have gone to waste.. So I endure..walked in and out of the bedroom...once he saw us, he will cry out loud again..Looking at the clock, he finally stopped after 20minutes of crying and fell asleep. He was so tired that he slept for 3hours+
In my mind, I was thinking how many times of this cry it out method do we have to use before succeeding? At night, we tried again. Around his sleeping time (9pm), after feeding him cereals and breastmilk, same thing, I put him in his cot, this time I didn't stay in the bedroom, I went outside to do my things. Very heartpain again to hear his cries and shouts/screams. But to my relief, he stopped after about 5 minutes and fell asleep! I wipe my hand against his hair, which is wet from perspiration and shift him to the centre of the cot as he has flipped to the corner again. Have we succeed? Is it that he knew that no matter how hard he cry, we will not pick him up or is he too tired and fell asleep? Whichever the case, we are glad that it only took him 5mins. Surprisingly fast that he has learnt to self soothe in only a day, thought that he will need a few days. Will try again tonight.

Today when we fetch Caydon from ifc, he's practising his flips on the mattress again..haha..

22 July 2014-Baby Caydon is 5month old today
According to the lunar calender, Caydon is 5months old today. Time really flies, he's getting cuter and more sensible.
22 july 2014-Breastmilk at the highest yield today :)
This morning around 10.30am I pump around 140 from my left boobs and 90 from my right boobs,total of 230ml. So far this is the most that I have pump during my 5months of breastfeeding. The afternoon pump I yield about 150ml, so total pumped for today is 380ml, more than enough for my baobei Caydon's feed at ifc tmr :)

5th visit to the gynae

Today's appointment I did the test for down syndrome, which includes a blood test and a scan. This cost me $350 before Gst. This test that I choose to take is 90% accurately. Nowadays we don't have to go through the pain and worries of the amionic fluid test.
During the scan, my cute baby kept moving about and the gynae was not able to take the measurements properly, he tried so hard to scan him but he won't stop moving, haha. Both the gynae and his nurse was laughing, my baby was so cute and active :) Gynae ask me to talk to him to stop moving for a while so I did, but baby still won't stop....Gynae kept reapplying the gel on my abdominal and try and try to scan, the nurse printed out a few pieces of the scan. Then finally after about 15 to 20 mins, gynae say 'ok'! Finally it's done...haha... Baby is sooooo cute.
After the scan, gynae draw some of my blood for the test of various diseases. He said that the result will be out next week and he will give call me.
This is the scan of him today. Somehow I feel that I can see his face and looks like a boy!

Today is the 4th day of Lunar New Year, the year of Horse. This Lunar New Year is so different from the pass, usually during LNY, I will be wearing new clothes and dress up nicely to go to house visiting, but this year since I am now about 34 weeks pregnant with my big tummy, I am not able to dress up nicely and also no mood to do so actually because I feel tired everyday. I only bought 1 new maternity dress from ASOS for LNY and a top from Gmarket. The dress is pretty, with embellishments at the bust area, looks expensive but it's way much cheaper than those maternity dresses that local retail shop sells.
By now, I have already put on about 15kg! It's scary isn't it? I know some mummies only put on like less than 10kg, so envy them :( I actually put on much weight during the 1st trimester where I drink at least 2 glasses of maternal milk powder, I guess this contribute largely to my rapid weight gain. But the strange thing is that during every gynae visit, he always said that my weight gain is 'normal'. Which I feel that it's not :( Somemore now it's chinese new year period where feasting is unavoidable. There's so much new year goodies waiting for me... eg. bak kwa, which I can't stop munching once I start eating, haha... I am trying very hard to control myself cause I don't want my baby boy to be too big when giving birth. He's already about 2.1kg at last appointment.
I am feeling kind of nervous as EDD is approaching, if my gynae is accurate, baby could pop by end of Feb'14...I am like left with 1 month to go... so scared...don't know what exactly to expect when giving birth. I will be taking my maternity leave from 26/02/14 so that I can't have some rest before baby pop.
About 2 weeks' ago, I got a shocked when I saw myself in the mirror after bathe. Was going to apply the stretch mark oil then suddenly saw that my butt has alot of stretch marks, oh no! There's the only area that I totally missed applying the stretch mark oil :( I am so upset... Since then I have been religiously applying on my butt and all other areas..
As I'm typing now, my baby is kicking inside me, so cute lah. I will definitely miss his kicks and hiccups when he's out. He's very active during late mornings, afternoons and night time. I can say that he is a good boy cause he don't disturb me when I am sleeping at night, when I sleep, he also stop kicking/he also sleeps. :)
Oh yah, and my maternity shoot is on this Saturday, excited!
